I finally have the energy and ability to share something very painful for me. On October 19th, my husband, Danny, passed away. He was only 47 and his birthday is coming up on November 5th. This was sudden and unexpected and I am still in shock.
I am overwhelmed with the love and support of our extended family from Church, work, etc... people I don't even know come up to me, crying and saying how much they loved Danny and will miss him!
I am blessed to have such wonderful people surrounding me and my children. All the prayers from literally around the world, have kept us strong and capable of dealing with this.
Since I am pretty much a basket case (or, rather a zombie), my oldest daughter Lia has stepped up to organize and handle all the arrangements. She is her father's daughter!
I'm losing focus now, so will stop, but I just want to say that I will be back. Not sure when, but I will.
Danny's funeral will be Wednesday, October 26th.

ReplyDeleteI just learned of you and your blog from Barb's Craft Therapy--specifically the last comments. My curiosity was piqued and here I am finding out what a devastating loss you have endured. I am so sorry for the loss you and your family have suffered-saddened beyond words. So young for this tragedy-I will just end by saying my hopes and prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your husband. If appearances are any indication, he was a lovely man. It's very brave of you to let the rest of us know what is going on with you ... also very thoughtful and caring. When people we learn to expect online suddenly don't show up, it is worrisome ... we all kind of get to know each other in a way. After all, art is expression of the soul .. and we are all laying it out there. May peace be with you.
ReplyDeleteSorry for your loss. My prayers out to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteMy dear, I can't begin to tell you just how sorry I feel that you are now enduring such a profound loss.
ReplyDeletePlease accept the prayers of all of us from PPS, along with our shared condolences.
Your heart will be in our prayers for some while, and your family's as well.
It may take time, but I feel certain you'll come shining through.
While it wasn't anyone so intimately known to me as a dear life partner, I suffered a devastating loss just this past summer, and know how it can take a while to rebuild one's courage and sanity.
This was a person I knew always would be there for me, come rain or come shine. Nothing can replace her presence in the world.
And, for what it's worth, I started finally breathing like I would normally about 8 weeks after her loss. Like I say, it can take a while even for normalized feeling.
Please cut yourself plenty of slack--and giving yourself credit for even just still standing can help to start you on the right road.
Peace be with you in all you do, and may you be helped and guided always via Christ's love.
Yours with concern and caring
