I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but I think I'm gonna faint... lol
D asked me to paint something on a T-shirt for him! wow...
I was all excited when he said he wanted a shirt with Downey Football on it. I was thinking of sketching out a knight (their mascot) and using a cool font for the words, but no, he wanted just "Downey Football" stenciled on the front of a T-shirt. Sigh... okay.
So, I searched through my fonts and asked him what he wanted... Stencil. Of course... I sized and printed the words out, then transfered the design onto freezer paper and cut the stencil out.
Sweet. Next, I ironed the stencil onto his shirt. He was not a happy camper that the original gray shirt was missing, so he settled for one of his old, beat up ones.
I love this method, because the stencil comes out so crisp and clean. Next I folded the shirt under the freezer paper, to protect it, then I used a can of spray paint. Keepin' it simple!
Also, keep in mind that D gave me an hour to do all of this... Thank goodness it was hot enough outside to dry in like 5 minutes!
Sorry this is not a very good picture, but he rushed us out the door and I had to have a picture of the shirt. Go Downey!
BTW, my son kicked some butt. ; ) Here's a vid:
It's hard to tell, but look at the end and you'll see number 58 getting up after sacking the quarterback. : )
Have a wonderful weekend!
I have just discovered freezer paper...I know I'm behind the times. I bought it online from Dollmakers Journey because I couldn't find any here in Canada. It's amazing stuff. I love it:)
ReplyDeleteI still have freezer paper kicking around from when we cleaned out my oma-in-law's house about 8 years ago! I didn't realize it had such a CREATIVE use!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the birthday wishes on my blog!!
